Why It’s Called Mardocheus Day

• Because Mordecai devised and lead the whole operation

• Esther 2:8-9

• Q. Why?
• A. Esther 4:1-2 because he loved his people deeply

• Esther 10:1-3

• Mordecai was the one who saved Xerxes I

• Esther 2: 21-23
• Esther 6:1-2

• Mordecai is the one who commanded Esther to go humbly beg Xerxes I for the lives of her people. Had he not done so we would not be here today.  

• Esther 4:8

• Esther 4:10-14 He convinced Esther by fear and by reason to be as concerned for her people as he was

• Mordecai wrote the decree to exterminate all that would have exterminated the Israelites

• Esther 8:7-15

• Mordecai struck fear in the hearts of the heathens

• Esther 9:1-3

• Mordecai saved heathens

• Esther 8:17

• Mordecai became greater and greater in the King’s house

• Esther 9:4

• Mordecai established the 14th & 15th of Adar As Purim

Conclusion

The day is called Mardocheus Day because Mordecai did everything in his power to save his people from death and destruction. Esther is honoured because she humbled herself even unto death to execute the plans of her guardian Mordecai and once on board she added fuel to the fire.
